Technology (Desktops & Laptops)
At first, we only had MinecraftEDU installed in the technology lab, but we soon discovered that we needed the flexibility of the mobile lab as well. The licensing works per number logged in at any given time, so as long as we are using either one or the other, we are in good shape with our 25 licenses.
Teacher Classroom Computer
Each teacher created their own world for their students. It is imperative to save and save again before closing out the program. Huge lesson learned the hard way! Also, we found it necessary to install the program on the teacher's computer. This made it very easy for students to share their work with the class on the big screen. Fun note . . . students worked at home within their own world to build because they wanted to put special touches called Mods on their project. They would use a flashdrive to bring their part from home then contribute to the classroom world. Seeing lower performing students rise to the top was a HUGE accomplishment!
As of january 2016 microsoft acquired minecraftedu!
